What is the Media Center? 

The USC Annenberg Media Center is a student-driven newsroom and production space featuring three professional studios, a busy news desk, and multiple computers stations and edit bays. It’s where students create real-world journalism and media across platforms using industry-standard tools. 

Where are you? 

The Annenberg Media Center is located on the University of Southern California campus.

We’re easily accessible from the main lobby. 

When are you open? 

Fall/Spring Semester Hours: 
Monday – Thursday: 9am – 10pm 
Friday: 9am – 5pm 
Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Hours may vary during university breaks, holidays, or special events. For the latest updates, check our website or signage posted near the Media Center entrance. 

Who can use the Media Center? 

We’re open to all USC students, faculty, and staff! Usage is prioritized by affiliation: 

  • Annenberg Students involved in Annenberg curricular programs 
  • Annenberg Faculty, Students, & Staff  
  • Non-Annenberg Guests: USC students, faculty, and staff (please contact us for info)  

How do I book a studio? 

Students, staff, and faculty can reserve studio spaces for approved media projects and coursework. 
To book a studio go to the Book a Studio tab at the top of this page. 

All studio users must receive a 30-minute training session prior to use.

How do I get access to the Media Center? 

To participate in Media Center activities, you’ll need card-swipe access to our secured space

Here’s how to get started: 

  • Attend a Media Center Open House 
  • Sign the User Pact agreement 
  • Enroll in a Media Center course or join an approved program 


Once these steps are complete, your USC ID can be activated for access.

Lost and Found 

Lost something at the Media Center? Items left behind are collected and stored at the coffee desk. 

To check for a lost item: 

  • Stop by the Media Center during open hours 
  • Post a query on slack: #lost-and-found 


Unclaimed items will be turned over to USC’s central Lost & Found office at the end of each month.
